Pregnancy Care

Growing numbers of pregnant women are seeking chiropractic care before, during and after their pregnancy for a number of reasons. During pregnancy, the woman’s body undergoes extreme changes in a short period of time. While a woman’s body is designed to do so, her joints and muscles are put under a lot of stress. Chiropractic can alleviate many of the discomforts of pregnancy such as low back pain, pelvic pain, ligament discomfort and upper back pain. Many women seek chiropractic care during pregnancy to ensure the alignment of their pelvis is optimal for labour and delivery. More and more women as well as childbirth practitioners (midwives, obstetricians, doula’s, etc.) are realizing the benefits that chiropractic care can have on proper pelvic alignment for birth.

Paediatric Care

Even from birth, the sensitive structures in a child’s spine can be put under stress. Joints designed to move with ease become tight and lack mobility. In a child, this spinal stress can manifest itself as irritability, a depressed immune system, excessive crying, headache, local discomfort and chronic infections to name a few. However, spinal stress can often go unnoticed until the child is an adolescent or adult at which time obvious pain and stiffness creep in.

Chiropractic care of the paediatric patient is unlike that of the adult. Because the delicate spinal structure in a child differs from that of the adult, adjustments to the spine are more gentle and non-forceful.

  Custom Foot Orthotics

Orthotics improve the alignment of the feet, preventing both flat feet and high arches as well as improving your gait (how you walk). Many conditions such as runner’s knee, shin splints, bunions, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis and metatarsalgia are improved with the use of custom orthotics. Please note: to be fitted for custom foot orthotics, it is our clinic policy that all our patients receive a detailed chiropractic health history, a specific spinal examination and a full set of spinal X-rays BEFORE anything is done. We refer out for orthotics.
